Discover Torrance Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
ELIGIBILITY: The Discover Torrance Website Contest (“Sweepstakes”) is open only to current legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older as of the date of entry. Void where prohibited by law. Employees of Discover Torrance (“Sponsor”), its dealers, prize sponsors, and their respective parents, affiliated and subsidiary companies, and advertising and promotional agencies, as well as the immediate family (spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, or son, regardless of where they live) of such employees or members of their households (whether related or not) are not eligible. By entering this Sweepstakes, entrants accept and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which will be final, binding, and conclusive in all respects.
PROMOTIONAL PERIOD: The Sweepstakes will begin at 12:01 AM PST on September 15, 2016 and end at 11:59 PM PST on October 14, 2016 (the “Promotional Period”). Entries received after the Promotional Period will be disqualified.
ENTRIES: No purchase necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not improve your chances of winning.
To enter, find the Surfer Dude on the Discover Torrance website and click to fill out entrant information (including name, email address and zip code). Entrants must be the registered subscriber of the e-mail account from which the entry is made.
Proof of entry submission does not equate to proof of receipt. LIMIT ONE ENTRY PER PERSON, HOUSEHOLD, STREET ADDRESS, OR E-MAIL ADDRESS. Multiple entries will be disqualified. In the event of a dispute as to entries submitted by multiple users having the same e-mail account, the authorized subscriber of the e-mail account used to enter the Sweepstakes at the actual time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant and must comply with these rules. Authorized account subscriber is deemed to be the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address account by the relevant Internet service provider, online access provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses or the domain name associated with the submitted e-mail address.
Sponsor is not responsible for incomplete, lost, late, misdirected, stolen, mutilated, incorrectly entered, illegible, or incomplete entries, or for any transmission defaults, human or computer failures, or technical malfunctions and/or delayed, garbled, or corrupted data entries. Sponsor is not responsible for printing or typographical errors in any Sweepstakes-related materials. All entries become the exclusive property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
PRIZES & ODDS OF WINNING: Four prize winners will receive one of four $50 Visa gift cards for entering their name, email and zip code in contact form. Odds of winning any prize depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Promotional Period.
Approximate retail value of prize is: $50 USD
All federal, state, local and any other applicable taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. No assignment, transfer, or substitution of prizes is permitted, except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize is unavailable.
WINNER SELECTION: Winner will be selected by random drawing from all eligible entries received, which drawing will be held on or about October 18, 2016. The selected winner will be notified via email within three business days of the drawing. Following verification of the winner, the winner will be announced on Discover Torrance’s official Facebook page. The potential winner is subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules. Once the winner is verified, shipping of the prize (if applicable) will occur within two weeks from the date on which the winner confirms shipping address.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: The Sweepstakes is governed by, and these rules will be construed and interpreted pursuant to, the laws of the United States. At Sponsor’s sole discretion, a selected winner may be disqualified and, in such case, an alternate winner will be selected from among the remaining eligible entries if (i) winner fails to meet the eligibility requirements; or (ii) winner cannot be reached because the prize notification or prize is returned as non-deliverable.
Where permitted by law, by accepting the prize, the winner grants to Sponsor, and its licensees, affiliates, and assigns, the right to print, publish, broadcast, and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to the World Wide Web, at any time or times, his or her name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, and biographical information as news or information and for advertising and promotional purposes without additional consideration.
Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds, in its sole discretion, to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes; to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or the terms of use of the Discover Torrance Website; or to be acting in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person. Any use of robotic, automatic, programmed, or like entry methods will void all such entries by such methods.
CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DAMAGE DELIBERATELY ANY WEB SITE OR TO UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND, SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY: By accepting the prize, the winner agrees, and by entering the Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees, to release and hold harmless Sponsor, its dealers, prize sponsors, and their respective parents, affiliated and subsidiary companies, advertising and promotional agencies, and their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, loss, or damage of any kind to person (including death) and property, arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, use, possession, or misuse of any prize, participation in any Sweepstakes-related activity, or participation in this Sweepstakes.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: Sponsor is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Web Site users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes or by any technical or human error that may occur in the processing of submissions in the Sweepstakes. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction, or unauthorized access to, or tampering with or hacking of, Sponsor’s Web Site, or any technical failure or malfunction. Sponsor is not responsible for injury or damage to entrants’ or to any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in this Sweepstakes or downloading or copying materials from or use of Sponsor’s Web Site. If, for any reason, the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, worms, tampering, hacking, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes that, in the sole opinion of Sponsor, could corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Sweepstakes and select the winner from entries received prior to the action taken, or as otherwise deemed fair and equitable by Sponsor. IN NO EVENT WILL SPONSOR, ITS PARENTS, AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES AND RELATED COMPANIES, THEIR ADVERTISING OR PROMOTIONAL AGENCIES, OR THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES AND AGENTS, PRIZE SPONSORS, OR LEGAL REPRESENTATIVES BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE PROMOTION OR CONDUCT OF, OR AN ENTRANT’S PARTICIPATION IN, THE SWEEPSTAKES OR OUT OF AN ENTRANT’S ACCESS TO AND USE OF SPONSOR’S INTERNET SITE OR THE DOWNLOADING FROM AND/OR PRINTING OF MATERIAL DOWNLOADED FROM SUCH SITE. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, EVERYTHING ON SUCH SITE AND ANY PRIZE WON IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Some jurisdictions may not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages or exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. PRIVACY: By entering the Sweepstakes, entrants will be sharing their personal information with Sponsor. By entering, entrants agree to Sponsor’s use of their personal information as described in Sponsor’s Privacy Policy.
GOVERNING LAW; JURISDICTION; VENUE: These Official Rules shall be interpreted in accordance with California law without regard to its conflicts of laws provisions. Entrants agree that the state and federal courts located in California will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or relating to these Official Rules, this Sweepstakes or entrants’ participation in Sweepstakes, and entrants’ consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue thereof.
SEVERABILITY: If any one or more provisions of these Official Rules are held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity, illegality, or unenforceability shall not affect the validity, effect, or enforcement of any other provision or provisions of these Official Rules.

The names of the winners will be posted on Discover Torrance’s social media platform, Facebook. In addition, the name of the winner may be obtained after October 18, 2016, by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Discover Torrance Website Contest Winner’s Name, 21250 Hawthorne Blvd., Suite 500, Torrance, CA 90503. All requests must be received before October 18, 2016.
