UN-CIVIL WAR (AN ELECTION SPECIAL)
CURATED BY MUSEUM DIRECTOR MAX PRESNEILL
The show is a critical inquiry into the deepening divisions in America’s political and cultural landscape. The country has felt a divided space with a polarization and demonizing of opposition that has left many citizens in fear that a spark could ignite the fires of civil war. There has been a steady build in journalist articles reflecting upon the possibility of a second US Civil War. Regardless of the realities of this the fact remains that this concern is a part of the current zeitgeist. The show asks the viewer to consider what will the current mid-term elections bring us? Increased enmity or a rejection of extremism? Will democracy win out or will armed insurrection begin? Or will the status quo continue to stoke the embers of discontent?

92 EVENTS
PRESENTS PROJECT SPANNING SIX DECADES BY ARTIST KEN FRIEDMAN
92 Events is based on the box of event scores that Fluxus impresario George Maciunas planned to publish. Selected scores from that collection traveled as a show in the 1970s in a set that now belongs to the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Friedman continued to develop the scores after Maciunas died in 1978. 92 Events presents a selection from the original scores to the most recent. Developed in 2019, the exhibition consists of 92 conceptual, action-oriented, language-based works that challenge the idea of an artwork as a unique object, printed out on plain 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper. Covering around 110 feet of running wall space, the exhibit allows each visitor to take a paper sheet of the project home with them, on the closing day, Saturday December 10th at 5pm.
