Western Museum of Flight – Celebrity Lecture Series

The Western Museum of Flight is hosting a Celebrity Lecture Series – Cliff Henderson – The Impresario of the National Air Races.
The national air races served as a proving ground for new technologies and engineering developments. It also provided an opportunity to test specific designs to hone pilot skills, to demonstrate and discover new flying techniques in a time when aviation was still in its rapid growth period. Most of all, it excited public interest and public support for the development and advancement of both commercial and military aviation. Drawing crowds of over 100,000 spectators, the races were a national attraction.
