No matter how thorough the engineering, and careful the manufacturing, unforeseen anomalies can occur. Sometimes, these are inconvenient, sometimes disastrous, but always expensive. These require exceptional skill from test pilots and engineering support experts alike. You’re invited to the Western Museum of Flight to hear Mike Raben’s and Roy Martin’s experiences with the surprises that can occur when testing prototypes and first articles.
