On Saturday, July 16th, the Western Museum of Flight is hosting a Celebrity Lecture Series – The Last Gunfighter – Flying the F-8 Crusader in Vietnam
Celebrity Lecture Series During the early years of the Vietnam conflict, the F-8 Crusader fighter plane, in the hands of highly skilled and fearless American pilots, was the ultimate nightmare for North Vietnamese MiG flyers. This aircraft’s ability to accelerate, maneuver, and aim accurate gunfire, was absolutely deadly to American adversaries in the skies over North Vietnam. Join us to hear the firsthand account of what that combat was like from one who flew those missions in this magnificent aircraft.
