“A memoir is the telling of one’s young life, through one’s old eyes….”
Thus begins the latest stage adaptation of one of Jane Yeh’s novels. Follow Qiu Xiaomei on this humorous and heartfelt journey, as she experiences the many faces of love: from naive adolescence, through disillusionment, and finally, to tempered understanding. Worlds collide, as the story unfolds through the blending of contemporary American staging, and elements of traditional Chinese Shadow plays. Light and dark intertwine, as Qiu Xiaomei discovers that the promise of something greater is easily broken, and things are not always as they seem.
