Annual Harry Sutter Memorial Turkey Trot Fun Run

The City of Torrance Community Services Department invites the entire family to participate in the Annual Harry Sutter Memorial Turkey Trot Fun Run. This three-mile fun run will begin at 8:00 AM on Thanksgiving morning. After the fun run, there will be a spectacular post-run prize drawing for mountain bikes, dinner vouchers, gym memberships, and many other outstanding prizes. All registered participants will receive a commemorative Turkey Trot shirt.

It’s easy to do, it’s fun, it’s affordable, and an inspiring way to start a great American Holiday – it’s the Annual TORRANCE TURKEY TROT!

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2023, at 8:00 AM – Thanksgiving morning – Rain or Shine


1 – Walk-in/Mail-in registration: Fill out an  ENTRY FORM and return it to:

  • Torrance Community Services Department
    3031 Torrance Blvd., Torrance CA 90503
    Attention: Turkey Trot / Registration office is open Monday – Thursday and every other Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Make checks payable to the “City of Torrance.”  Race fees are non-refundable.
  •  Walk-in and Mail-in Registration will be available until November 17 (prices vary – depending on the date)

2 – ONLINE REGISTRATION PROCEDURES. Click here to register online

The City of Torrance is no longer using a third party for online registration. If you do not have an existing account, you must create one.

When creating your account, you may add all family members. If you have an existing account, please contact the Registration Office at Enroll@TorranceCA.Gov or (310) 618-2720 to add family members to your existing account (they must reside in your household, otherwise they must have their own account).   A surcharge will be charged for all credit and debit card transactions.

ALL INDIVIDUALS MUST BE REGISTERED IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TURKEY TROT FUN RUN.  Each Participant will be provided with an official race number, which MUST be worn on the front of their shirt and be visible at all times during the event. 


$30 – Early Registration is available through October 13th.   Please Note:  Mail in entry forms must be postmarked. 

$35 – Regular Registration is available through November 17th.   Please Note: Mail in entry forms must be postmarked.


$40 – Late Registration is available:

November 22nd at the Ken Miller Recreation Center, 3341 Torrance Boulevard from 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

November 23rd  (Race Day) at the Sam’s Club Parking Lot (2601 Skypark Drive) from 6:30 AM – 7:30 AM

COMMEMORATIVE SHIRTS: An outstanding commemorative long sleeve shirt will be given to all participants. Shirts are first-come first choice availability in Youth Large, Adult Small, Medium, Large and X-Large.  Sizes cannot be guaranteed.
NOTE: Late registrants MAY NOT receive a shirt on event day, but will be able to pick up at a later date.

RACE PACKETS:  Can be picked up Wednesday, November 22nd from 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM at the Ken Miller Recreation Center, 3341 Torrance Blvd., or on event day between 6:30 AM – 7:30 AM in the Sam’s Club parking lot.  RECEIPTS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL PACKET PICK-UPS.  Race Packets include number, commemorative shirt and run information.


DOG/PET INFORMATION: For sanitary reasons and the safety of all participants, pets are not allowed on the event course.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: No bikes, scooters, skates, skateboards or roller blades on the course**If you choose to run with a baby jogger, you must seed yourself behind the red flags and behind all other runners/walkers. It is your responsibility to make sure your baby jogger does not impede other runners, and you must take extra precaution to ensure your safety, your child’s safety, and the safety of the runners around you.

6:30 AM – 7:30 AM – Check-in/Registration
7:30 AM – 7:50 AM – Warm-up/Announcements
8:00 AM – 3-Mile Fun Run Begins
9:15 AM – Post-Run Prize Drawing

SPECTACULAR POST-RUN DRAWING:  Don’t miss out on the chance to win mountain bikes, gift cards to local food vendors, apparel and much more.  Submit your bib tab (the tear away tab at the bottom of your bib number) after 9:00 AM in the raffle wheel at the main stage.  The drawing will begin at 9:15 PM and you must be present to win!

FOOD DRIVE:  The City of Torrance invites runners and spectators to bring a can of food for a special Thanksgiving Food Drive.   While you run, or watch, our canned foods will be distributed to people in need throughout the South Bay.
