In 2010, American Express founded Small Business Saturday, to occur the day after Black Friday. The Torrance Chamber has expanded upon the idea of Small Business Saturday by creating Small Business Week, to support local businesses for an extended period. The Torrance Chamber’s Shop Local, Shop Small Business Week will happen from November 28th to December 5th, this year.
The Chamber is encouraging all local residents and the business community to support its small business members now more than ever. In these unprecedented times, with small businesses struggling and sometimes closing, Shop Small Business Week is a great way to support and keep an American tradition of commerce alive. As people give back to their local small businesses, they are initially investing back in their local economy. As the holiday season fast approaches, go shop at these small business participants and help the South Bay community thrive!
