On Tuesday, February 10, in celebration of Lunar New Year – Year of the Horse, the Farmers’ Market will be serving pizza in the shape of horse head, and a pepperoni horseshoe-shaped pizza. Pizzas are handcrafted by Chef Hung, founder and owner of the Food Vendor PiiZaa – he is known for making “the BEST sourdough pizza!”

Chef Hung coins his culinary philosophy as “roots to leaves,” hyper-focused on seasonal and locally harvested ingredients “to nourish our body and soul.” Over the years, he has built deep connections with trusted farmers in the community. Chef Hung from the PiiZaa Booth specializes in only using fruit wood from a farm in Fresno. His sourdough starter utilizes Cairnspring Flour (regenerative mill/farm) from Washington State, and 90% of the farm-fresh ingredients are sourced directly from the Torrance Farmers’ Market – tomatoes from Tamai’s Farm, and seasonal produce for their toppings from Thao’s Farm, Ken’s Farm, and Black Sheep Farm. Chef Hung collides his Vietnamese culture with the traditional Italian pizza.
