VEFA Gallery: Surreality 101

Surrealism was officially founded by French writer André Breton in 1924. 101 years later, VEFA Gallery will revisit how the dreams of 1924 manifested. Surreality 101 will examine the central themes that surreal artists developed 101 years ago: dreams, juxtaposed images, the subconscious, and social/political commentary. They will showcase work made by some of Surrealism’s seminal artists when the movement was birthed alongside new work from today’s new surrealist artists; we can see what dreams have come to pass and where the human psyche will take us next.
