King’s Hawaiian first opened in Hilo, Hawaii in 1950 and after several years of success, King’s came to the mainland in 1977. They opened its first factory in Torrance, and shortly thereafter, a full-service bakery and restaurant serving a unique selection of Hawaiian local food and traditional American dishes to Torrance. A South Bay favorite, King’s Hawaiian is an iconic “must-do”!In October of 1984, the Rossberg family opened the doors of Torrance Bakery to the public. With only 1200 square feet of space and seven dedicated employees, they set out to serve the people of the South Bay the freshest, most delicious cakes and pastries in town. Today, Torrance Bakery serves the South Bay from two locations with a total of 78 employees, a separate Wedding Cake Showroom and a Sandwich Shop.
