Like the rest of California, Torrance is officially open for business as of June 15. Great food, interesting museums, peaceful beaches and excellent lodging options are open. Summer is here, and there are a ton of fun things to do in Torrance. Here’s a taste of what Torrance has to offer.
TOCA
There’s nothing quite like live music and it’s back in Torrance at the wide open, outdoor Torrance Cultural Arts Center (TOCA). Head there on Friday, June 19 to catch The Fenians playing a mix of Celtic/Irish music and good ol’ rock n’ roll.
You can also catch the LA Stars of Funk at the TOCA on Saturday, July 3. They feature an all-star lineup of amazingly talented musicians who have performed alongside Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, Prince and Earth Wind & Fire.
MOTLEY CRUE AND DEF LEOPARD
If you’re a heavy metal fan, then you won’t want to miss Motley Crue and Def Leppard playing at SoFi Stadium on Saturday, Sept 4th. They’re only playing one night, and you can purchase tickets now at TicketMaster.
BEACH LIFE FESTIVAL
This local music festival is a 3-day event running from Friday, Sept. 10 through Sunday, Sept. 12. The Beach Life Festival celebrates music, art and everything you love about SoCal beach life culture. This year’s lineup includes Janes Addiction, Counting Crows, Cage the Elephant, Ziggy & Stephen Marley (featuring Bob Marley’s music) and more.
USA RUGBY TEAM
Watch the USA Men’s and Women’s Rugby Sevens teams compete at the “Quest for Gold Sevens” just before the Tokyo Olympics this summer. They’ll be playing against the National Olympic Teams from Argentina, Samoa, Japan, Korea and Kenya in this Olympic preparatory event at the Dignity Health Sports Park in nearby Carson.
BOXING
There are a number of sporting events this summer at nearby venues like Dignity Health Sports Park – make sure to catch a special boxing match featuring Colbert vs Gamboa Match live on Saturday, July 3 at 4:00pm. Undefeated rising star Chris Colbert (15-0-0, 6 KOs) will defend his WBA Super Featherweight Interim Title against three-division world champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (30-4-0, 18 KOs) in a headlining crossroads bout.
FOOTBALL
Our local SoFi Stadium now hosts the NFL teams, the Rams and the Chargers, so keep an eye out for game tickets as the football season kicks off this year. And make sure to reserve your 2022 Super Bowl 56 tickets early
