In honor of the famous Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival, the City of Torrance throws its own cultural celebration. Enjoy a day of live Pan-Asian performances, shop for handmade goods and feast on cuisine from several local food trucks. It’s free and family-friendly with lots of free crafts and activities.
Bunka-Sai Japanese Cultural Festival – 4/5/25 – 4/6/25
This two-day event is an authentic celebration of Japanese culture. It’s presented by the Torrance Sister City Association and benefits the city’s student cultural exchange program. It is filled with amazing dance and musical performances, martial arts demonstrations and art exhibitions. You can also fill yourself with authentic plate lunches and sweets paired with shopping for handmade crafts.
63rd Annual Armed Forces Day Parade & Celebration – 5/16/25 – 5/18/25
This three-day event celebrates all the branches of the armed forces and the great contribution they provide. Each year, they select one branch in particular to honor, and this year, they have selected the United States Army, which is celebrating its 250th birthday.

Spring is also the time when music festivals come alive in Torrance. Being this close to Los Angeles and Hollywood, these festivals draw on a wide pool of world-class musicians and attract famous bands and music fans from all over.
Dymally International Jazz & Arts Festival – 4/26/25
This festival, which celebrates music and art throughout the Southern California Region, benefits the Dymally Institute and California State University, Dominguez Hills students. It draws top international acts and features an impressive visual arts pavilion.
BeachLife Festival – 5/2/25 – 5/4/25
This three-day festival is well known and draws some of the biggest acts on the music scene. This year’s headliners include Lenny Kravitz, Train, Sublime, Pretenders, Cake, Alanis Morissette, Jackson Browne and The Beach Boys.
Feast at the Farmers’ Market
Fresh fruit is always a good idea, especially in Torrance. Head to the Torrance Certified Farmers’ Market (the largest farmers’ market in the South Bay) every Tuesday and Saturday 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Charles H. Wilson Park.
