In one incredible weekend, March 1 – 3, 2024, the 12 best men’s and women’s rugby teams will compete in an intense, Olympic-style tournament. The entire Rugby SVNS tournament takes place at eight events between December 2023 and June 2024, with this March Los Angeles event being the fifth event and the only one occurring in the United States. Held at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, it’ll be surrounded by parties and a huge multicultural festival with live entertainment, great food, pop-ups and the works.
Torrance is right next door to Dignity Health Sports Park and is near four other major sports arenas as well. That’s why Torrance is a true sports-lovers paradise. Stay in Torrance, and you’ll be right there for all the action at the Rugby HSBC SVNS Games.
The tournament will occur on Friday, March 1 – Sunday, March 3, and you can purchase tickets for the entire weekend or for a single day. Tickets are already on sale, so it’s best to buy them soon. Add-ons include:
On Friday, games get started with pool play matches starting at 4:00 pm. On Saturday and Sunday, games start at 9 am across two pitches, with each match lasting 14 minutes, similar to the Olympics. It’s a lot of fast action that will happen throughout the weekend. Last year, the games streamed live on Peacock and are expected to again. The final match schedules will be posted closer to the event.
Every team competing has fought for the right to be there. That means you’ll watch the best of the best in this weekend’s games. From around the world, World Rugby has announced that this year’s event will include:
You can drive, and if you do, be sure to take advantage of the discounted parking when you buy your tickets. Another option is to take advantage of LA Metro and take a bus ride to and from to avoid parking. Buses leave about every half hour and cost $4 each way or $8 roundtrip.
Home to the LA Galaxy, Dignity Health Sports Park is an outdoor stadium with covered seating. Inside are concessions stands throughout, including Benihana, Japanese hibachi, in the South Plaza, and a Beachside Kitchen stand just outside the stadium with one-of-a-kind BBQ, fish tacos, beer and more.
As part of the festival, there will also be Food Markets with the best global cuisines. You can try a wide variety of amazing street food, from meat pies to Indian curries and more.
There are also five bars throughout the stadium, and of course, after the game, you could check out any of the 10 craft breweries and 400+ eateries in Torrance.
You will find world-class food and entertainment at and around the stadium in areas that will also be used for the 2028 Olympic Games, including live music and more. All weekend long, you’ll be able to choose from a variety of cuisines, sports, music and unforgettable immersive experiences. Some promised events include:
