Insider’s Guide to the World Rugby HSBC SVNS Games 2024
In one incredible weekend, March 1 – 3, 2024, the 12 best men’s and women’s rugby teams will compete in an intense, Olympic-style tournament. The entire Rugby SVNS tournament takes place at eight events between December 2023 and June 2024, with this March Los Angeles event being the fifth event and the only one occurring in the United States. Held at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, it’ll be surrounded by parties and a huge multicultural festival with live entertainment, great food, pop-ups and the works.

Tickets for the World Rugby SVNS Games
The tournament will occur on Friday, March 1 – Sunday, March 3, and you can purchase tickets for the entire weekend or for a single day. Tickets are already on sale, so it’s best to buy them soon. Add-ons include:

Tournament Times
On Friday, games get started with pool play matches starting at 4:00 pm. On Saturday and Sunday, games start at 9 am across two pitches, with each match lasting 14 minutes, similar to the Olympics. It’s a lot of fast action that will happen throughout the weekend. Last year, the games streamed live on Peacock and are expected to again. The final match schedules will be posted closer to the event.
The Competitors
Every team competing has fought for the right to be there. That means you’ll watch the best of the best in this weekend’s games. From around the world, World Rugby has announced that this year’s event will include:
- New Zealand All Blacks Sevens and Black Ferns Sevens
- Double men’s Olympic champions Fiji
- Perennial favorites South Africa
- Samoa
- Australia
- Canada
- Argentina
- USA men’s and women’s national teams
Getting to the Stadium
You can drive, and if you do, be sure to take advantage of the discounted parking when you buy your tickets. Another option is to take advantage of LA Metro and take a bus ride to and from to avoid parking. Buses leave about every half hour and cost $4 each way or $8 roundtrip.
Food at the Stadium
Home to the LA Galaxy, Dignity Health Sports Park is an outdoor stadium with covered seating. Inside are concessions stands throughout, including Benihana, Japanese hibachi, in the South Plaza, and a Beachside Kitchen stand just outside the stadium with one-of-a-kind BBQ, fish tacos, beer and more.
As part of the festival, there will also be Food Markets with the best global cuisines. You can try a wide variety of amazing street food, from meat pies to Indian curries and more.
There are also five bars throughout the stadium, and of course, after the game, you could check out any of the 10 craft breweries and 400+ eateries in Torrance.
