Hotel meeting rooms suit working sessions. Six Torrance hotels host meetings on site, including the Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach, DoubleTree by Hilton Torrance South Bay, Bluestem Hotel, Miyako Hybrid Hotel, Courtyard Los Angeles Torrance/Palos Verdes and Sonesta ES Suites Torrance Redondo Beach, so attendees can stay and meet in one place.

Brewery and restaurant spaces suit social events and team evenings. Smog City offers private or shared space, and groups can bring their own catering or have the brewery arrange a food truck. Hermosa Brewing Company adds games to the mix. The Torrance Marriott’s 21 Square offers private and semi-private dining.

Outdoor spaces suit teams that want open-air settings. South Coast Botanic Garden lists corporate events on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Torrance Beach is also a nice option, and just needs a County permit for group activities (covered below).

Civic and cultural spaces suit larger or more formal gatherings. The Torrance Cultural Arts Center offers multiple indoor and outdoor spaces.

Getting Your Group Here and Around

Torrance is easy for out-of-towners to reach, located only 10 miles from from LAX and 17 miles from Long Beach Airport.

Once your group is on the ground, getting around is simple.

For private events, Dave & Buster’s Torrance offers semi-private space for happy hours and small corporate events, private rooms and full venue rentals. Several breweries work with food trucks as well, so ask about food if you book your corporate event any of those venues.

To balance out indoor working sessions, Torrance offers several settings for group bonding and active outings.

• Torrance Beach & The Strand: Torrance’s 1.5 miles of coastline works well for organized group beach volleyball tournaments or catered team wind-downs, while The Strand serves as a coastal route for group bike rides or sojourns along LA’s coast, through Venice Beach, Santa Monica up to Malibu. (Note: If you plan an organized activity on the sand involving setups like tables, chairs, or vendors, LA County Beaches and Harbors requires a Special Event Use Permit. Applications must be submitted 3 weeks to 90 days in advance.

• Nature & Culture Outings: Teams can explore the 212+ acres of open space throughout the City, including at the Madrona Marsh Preserve. Groups can tour on their own or opt for a private group docent tour through local cultural spots like the Torrance Art Museum, VEFA Gallery, or the Chen Art Gallery (home to one of the country’s largest collections of ancient Chinese art).

• Sports & Group Outings: For teams wanting to catch a game together during their trip, Torrance is within easy reach of major Los Angeles sports venues across the basin. Through Torrance Transit you can catch a ride to SoFi Stadium for football games for only $4 round trip.

Hold the working session in a hotel room that fits your group, such as one of the 637 sq. ft. rooms at the Courtyard Los Angeles Torrance/Palos Verdes, which hold up to 40 each. Finish with an evening at Smog City, where you can reserve the patio and bring your own food or have the brewery arrange a food truck.

A 75-person company party. Book Hermosa Brewing Company’s private room or full brewery, which holds up to 100, and let the onsite games (pool, shuffleboard, darts, etc.) do the work of breaking the ice. If guests are traveling, pair it with rooms at a nearby hotel.
