Explore Torrance’s Spooky Side

Torrance has more than events for Halloween. The city is dotted with historic sites and filming locations that add atmosphere to any Halloween celebration. For those who like a side of mystery with their pumpkin spice, these are places that look straight out of a movie.

Torrance High School
Fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer will recognize Torrance High as the exterior of Sunnydale High. Its 1917 Mediterranean Revival architecture and grand brickwork give it a dramatic, slightly eerie presence.

Historic Old Torrance
Stroll through early 20th-century buildings, vintage storefronts, and narrow streets lit by old-style lamps. At dusk, the district takes on a moody atmosphere perfect for exploring after a Halloween event.

Pacific Electric Railroad Bridge
Built in 1913 by architect Irving Gill, this arched concrete bridge looms with historic industrial character. It’s not haunted by legend, but its imposing look makes a great spooky photo stop.

Torrance Historical Society & Museum
Step inside to see artifacts and stories from Torrance’s past. With its creaky floors and old photographs, even the museum has a touch of Halloween atmosphere.

Halloween Treats at Torrance Bakery

There’s no tricks, just treats at Torrance Bakery this Halloween, who’s getting into the spirit with a lineup of Halloween-decorated cookies and cupcakes. Pick from friendly favorites like Frankenstein and mummy head cakes, Jack Skellington cookies, and Halloween petit fours, or go for something downright terrifying with their Pennywise cake. There’s plenty more where that came from, so it’s worth stopping in to see the full seasonal case.

Location: 1341 El Prado Ave, Torrance, CA 90501
