That’s rare, and it means Torrance, just 20–23 minutes from SoFi Stadium, is the perfect place to enjoy twice the football most cities get.

Whether it’s a preseason game in August, a January playoff push or the Super Bowl(!) , Torrance puts you close to the action.

Super Bowl Repeat

SoFi Stadium hosted Super Bowl LVI in 2022, and it made such a good impression that the Big Game is coming back to Los Angeles. Super Bowl LXI in 2027 kicks off on February 14th (yep, Valentine’s Day) promising another unforgettable night of football, halftime entertainment and championship drama.

Why Torrance Beats Everywhere Else in LA for Football

Plenty of neighborhoods sit near SoFi. Few offer this combination:

  • Direct, cheap ride to the gates. Torrance Transit runs games-day service straight to SoFi for $4 round trip.
  • Hotel rates without the stadium markup. Areas immediately around Inglewood and Hollywood Park see steep price spikes on game weekends. Torrance’s 15 hotels sit a perfect distance away to avoid that surge.
  • Shorter, simpler drive than the rest of LA. Downtown LA, Santa Monica, West Hollywood and a lot of other popular areas are all much further from SoFi and funnel through the same 405, 10 and 110 corridors that see the worst game-day backups. Torrance skips most of that.

Getting to SoFi from Torrance

Once you’ve picked Torrance as your base, here’s how to get to the stadium:

Torrance Transit: The easiest and cheapest way to get to SoFi. Costs $2 each way and $4 round trip on Line 10x, direct to SoFi, with free parking at the Torrance Transit Center. Get SoFi shuttle details here.

Rideshare: Straightforward, but more costly. Budget extra time for the walk from drop-off, especially on high-attendance games. SoFi’s rideshare drop-off zone is about a quarter mile from the stadium entrance.

Driving: The most challenging but flexible way to get to SoFi. Most game day parking on the day will be sold out, so you’ll have needed to purchase SoFi parking ahead. Official lots run $80–$100 for Rams and Chargers games; off-site lots booked through ParkWhiz or SpotHero start around $29. If driving, buy your pass when you buy your tickets, as the closest zones sell out first.

Know Before You Go: SoFi’s Gate Rules

SoFi enforces a clear bag policy for every event, NFL games included.

Bags must be clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″ or a one-gallon clear freezer bag. Small clutches (up to 4.5″ x 6.5″, no strap) are also fine. Backpacks, purses, diaper bags and camera bags won’t get through security, so plan to leave them at your hotel.

Gates open 2–3 hours before kickoff. Plan to arrive at least 60 minutes early to clear security comfortably.
